Paris Fashion Week 2020: Models literally made a splash at Balenciaga's show
As this season's fashion month comes to a close, designer labels such as Balenciaga are making a big splash -- literally.
On Sunday, models walked the runway at Cité du Cinema studio in Paris wearing the latest looks from the brand as they charged through a flooded floor.
The flooded grounds were not the result of an unforeseen accident but intentionally created to match the overall apocalyptic-like theme of the show. An overhead screen showed visuals of extreme weather conditions.
In addition to flooded floors, Balenciaga's fall/winter 2020 show included a look at bright ruched gowns, new vibrant takes on outerwear, sharp shouldered tops and a wide range of new ways to wear black.
In less than 30 minutes, the show included a little over 100 high fashion looks.
Creative director Demna Gvasalia has created similar collections in the past, but many are saying this may be the darkest yet.
