Lady Gaga is about to hit the carpet at Sunday's Academy Awards and anticipation is building about what "A Star Is Born" actress will be wearing.
The best actress and best original song nominee has made her mark with iconic style moments. Here are a few never-forgotten looks as fans await her latest for Oscars 2019.
The lace red dress and mask
Gaga made her debut at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards wearing several looks. But it was the outrageous, lacy red Alexander McQueen number and Haus of Gaga mask that had all eyes on her.
The bubble dress
Gaga's plastic bubble-covered bodysuit first made a splash in 2009. She wore it at the Grammy Celebration Concert Tour at House of Blues in Boston on May 4, 2009, and sported it during The Fame Ball Tour.
The Alexander McQueen gown
Donning an Alexander McQueen gown, Gaga accepted the award for best female video for "Bad Romance" at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. The showstopper was complete with McQueen's signature armadillo heels. Gaga even revealed in a 2018 interview with Vogue magazine that the outfit, which was one of the final pieces McQueen worked on before his death, was her No. 1 look.
The meat dress
Viewers couldn't look away as Gaga stepped on stage at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, head-to-toe in flank steak. Designed by Franc Fernandez, the dress and shoes were later preserved by a taxidermist and are currently on display in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The space dress
Sporting yellow hair, Gaga hit the carpet at the 52nd Grammy Awards in a custom, Armani Prive high-low dress. The futuristic look was merely a peek into the outrageous outfit changes that night as she snagged best dance recording for "Poker Face."
A touch of red
Gaga arrived on the red carpet in a custom Azzedine Alaïa for Oscars 2015. The actress-singer paired the glittery frock with a pair of statement-making red gloves, also designed by Alaïa.
The white jumpsuit
Gaga took viewers by surprise at the 2016 Oscars when she walked the carpet in a strapless, white jumpsuit designed Brandon Maxwell. She completed the look with a skirt attachment and Old Hollywood curls.
"A Star is Born" on the red carpet
Gaga turned heads at the Venice Film Festival during the premiere of her Oscar-nominated movie, "A Star is Born." The pink, feathery Valentino Couture gown was first worn on the runway by model Kaia Gerber and Gaga made the fairy-tale come to life.
The dress that matched a fellow "Star"
Gaga shined like an Old Hollywood star in sky blue Valentino Couture as she channeled actress Judy Garland at the 2019 Golden Globes. But paying homage to Garland, who appeared in the original 1954 movie, was a happy accident according to Gaga.
