Mindy Kaling designs 1st swim collection with Andie Swim: 'Bold, fun and empowering'
Mindy Kaling officially has a swim collection.
Launched Wednesday, Kaling co-created an exclusive swimwear collection with Andie Swim, a woman-founded business. "This collection marks Mindy’s debut in swim design," according to Andie's press release.
“I have been a fan of Andie Swim for years, drawn to their authenticity as a brand, their sense of humor, and of course, the fit of their suits," Kaling said in the press release. "For that reason, I jumped at the chance to work with Andie on designing my first ever swim collection. I wanted the collection to be bold, fun, and empowering, full of pieces that make you look and feel amazing. The collection is a mix of our brand-new designs and some of my favorite Andie styles reimagined in new textures and colors."
The collection includes one-piece swimsuits, high-waisted bikini bottoms, bikini tops and more, ranging in sizes XXS to XXXL.
"Mindy's unique perspective on style and color, coupled with her passion for empowering women, made this collaboration so much fun," Andie Swim's founder and CEO, Melanie Travis, said in the release. "She provided valuable input on silhouettes that she has both loved and disliked over the years, ultimately enabling us to craft a collection that we're all obsessed with. It's bold, fun, and full of vibrant colors, with silhouettes that are flattering for all body types."
Kaling, who's previously opened up about feeling self-conscious about her body, now tells "People" that these days, she's "feeling really confident."
"It's not like you become a mom and you give up on looking cute and sexy and all you want to wear is a modest navy bathing suit. I don't need to have a skirted bathing suit. These pieces make me feel young and carefree ..." Kaling said.
