Miley Cyrus' mom gave her a pixie mullet cut during quarantine
Miley Cyrus' mullet is back with an updated twist thanks to her mother.
Due to mandated stay-at-home orders amid COVID-19, Cyrus had to tap her go-to hairstylist Sally Hershberger for a virtual haircut and her mother Tish Cyrus was responsible for the snipping.
The "Mother's Daughter" singer originally debuted a mullet look in January, but her latest look is a pixie-cropped version of it.
"I trained Tish well," Hershberger wrote in an Instagram post sharing a selfie of Cyrus with her fresh cut.
Many people immediately left comments under Hershberger's post expressing their love for the new look. "Fun, Fresh & Now, luv it," one person said.
The process was done via FaceTime with Hershberger, Cyrus and her mother, according to People.
"Instead of just telling them the step-by-step instructions, I physically do the cut with them," Hershberger said in an interview. I find that actually demonstrating allows the client to get the best results. [We also] work gradually and take my time with small sections — less is more."
Cyrus' quarantine cut comes just a few months after having her long platinum blonde bangs cut to look like her Disney channel character, Hanna Montana.
