Michelle Obama honors Lin-Manuel Miranda in a stunning yellow corseted dress
This past weekend Michelle Obama was spotted wearing a gorgeous gown that left many people smiling.
During the 2019 American Portrait Gala, she sported a yellow dress topped with a sparkling corset-style overlay. Obama also stunned with soft sultry wavy hair to complete the look.
She wore it to present Lin-Manuel Miranda with the Portrait of a Nation Prize, and posted a photo of them together on Instagram.
"So proud to present my friend Lin-Manuel Miranda with the Portrait of a Nation Prize at the National Portrait Gallery," she wrote in her caption.
"He's someone who has, in melody and rhyme and connection, painted as honest a portrait of our country as I've ever seen. Love this guy," she continued.
Since posting the look, Obama's post has received over 800,00 likes, with many people commenting on how great she looked.
Sofi Martinez Fortis jokingly left a comment saying, "Girl I don't have enough plates for all the looks you've been serving."
Obama's dress was designed by Paris-based label Schiaparelli and custom made for her.
"The real starting point for the overall look was the colour," Schiaparelli's creative director, Daniel Roseberry, told Vogue. "The acidic tone echoes Elsa Schiaparelli’s signature shocking pink, and we also felt that it matched the strength and energy of Mrs. Obama. It was such an honour to make this special gown for her."
