Achieving gorgeous, beautiful makeup at any age is possible, and thankfully, there are many talented experts willingly sharing their top tips with the world.
Take makeup artist and beauty influencer Lauren Hale for example. She has dedicated her social media platforms to highlighting her go-to makeup techniques for mature skin.
The mother of three is passionate about helping women learn to love themselves and be more confident.
"Good Morning America" tapped Hale to demonstrate some of her anti-aging tips.
"I'm going to show you some easy tweaks to your makeup that will give you a more youthful appearance," Hale said.
Tip #1: Use cream-based concealers to hide wrinkles
Hale recommends that after the age of 40, you should be using cream makeup because it absorbs into the skin instead of staying on the top layer as a foundation does. "As we age, less is more," she said.
She also advises to stop applying your concealer under your eyes in the shape of an upside-down triangle as it will bring out fine lines and wrinkles. "We definitely don't want to do that over the age of 40," Hale added.
Tip #2: Use a dense brush to apply eyeshadow
"We get a lot of moveable skin on our lid space," Hale said. "So that when we go in, and back and forth in this kind of motion, you're actually pulling that loose skin on your eye and you're fighting it."
Her tip is to pull down as you apply so you're getting a smoother application and you're not fighting the wrinkles as you would when applying it left and right. She also suggests using a makeup brush with dense bristles for a nice smooth application.
Tip #3: Place contour higher on the face for lifted cheek bone
With age, a face contour is going to provide a natural shadow to the face. "Putting it too low on our face, makes us look even older — we're just making our face bring down lower," Hale said.
To avoid this, Hale said it's best to place your contour higher on your cheekbone as fullness in the face is lost as we age. Hale added, "This is going to give you an instant cheek lift.
