Lil Nas X drops new T-shirts inspired by controversial 'Montero (Call Me By Your Name)' video
Lil Nas X's latest video, "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)," has been wildly controversial, with its scenes of Nas traveling to Hell and giving a Satan-like character a lap dance before killing the Prince of Darkness and taking his throne.
The rapper continues to poke fun at the outrage, this time with his new line of merch in collaboration with Pizzaslime.
X is now selling T-shirts with the slogan "I [Heart] Jesus" in big letters. Underneath that, in slightly smaller letters, it adds: "And that one part in the 'Montero' music video by Lil Nas X when he gets nasty with the Devil because it was a cool form of self-expression and art."
Another T-shirt design says, "I watched the 'Montero' video by Lil Nas X and all I got was this lousy shirt and now I'm also gay and love Satan."
The shirts retail for $33.
Prior to the T-shirt launch, Nas released "Satan shoes," claiming the sneakers contained a drop of human blood.
These shoes were designed on a pair of Nike Air Max 97s which later led to a lawsuit from Nike.
Nike denied any involvement with the sneaker and confirmed to "GMA" that it filed a trademark infringement and a dilution complaint against the Brooklyn-based company behind the shoes.
"We do not have a relationship with Lil Nas X or MSCHF," Nike said in a statement. "The Satan Shoes were produced without Nike's approval or authorization, and Nike is in no way connected with this project."
