Katie Holmes reflects on 'Dawson's Creek,' working with her daughter and more for Glamour's April 2023 issue
Katie Holmes is Glamour Magazine's April 2023 cover star.
Photographed by Christine Hahn, she's seen in the latest issue wearing a striking off-the-shoulder black and gold Gabriela Hearst dress, Ariana Boussard Reifel drop earrings and voluminous wavy hair.
"The 'Dawson's Creek' alum has got stellar personal style, an admirable ability to parent thoughtfully and privately, and a seemingly permanent spot on the paparazzi's must-capture list," Glamour captioned a reveal of the cover on Instagram. "But behind it all, she is -- and always has been -- a passionate and successful actor and director."
In the accompanying cover story interview, Holmes opened up about everything from coming of age while filming "Dawson's Creek" 25 years ago to her 16-year-old daughter Suri Cruise's style choices.
Reflecting back on her time on "Dawson's Creek," Holmes mentioned how, at 18 years old, she really appreciated the writing because it felt like as a teenager she had so many different feelings trying to go from being a girl to a woman.
"And I felt like [creator Kevin Williamson] had this way of putting words to those feelings," she said. "So for me, playing that role, I was like, Oh, that's what that means. Oh, I get that. I loved doing it. It was a really fun, profound experience."
Also touching on her teenage daughter's fashion, Holmes revealed that Suri is into '90s style and joked about how that makes her feel old.
"I think the '90s style is exactly back. Makes me feel old. We lived through that already!" she said.
"My mom says she should have saved things," she added. "I should have saved things."
