Heidi Klum's daughter Leni makes modeling debut with Vogue Germany
Heidi Klum's daughter, Leni, is already starting upcoming new year off with a bang by making her modeling debut on Vogue Germany's January-February 2021 issue.
The 16-year-old beauty was photographed by Chris Colls alongside her mother wearing matching colorful pantsuits and barefeet.
"So excited for my first cover," wrote Leni in an Instagram post. "I had so much fun on set with @voguegermany couldn't dream of a better start!! Thank you for being by my side @heidiklum."
Heidi responded in a comment to Leni's post with, "I love you my sweet Leni."
In an interview with Vogue Germany, Heidi reflected on her thoughts surrounding her daughter's age. “Sixteen is a good age," she said. "If you are allowed to drive a car, you can also have an official Instagram account and show your face. And to be allowed to start with a Vogue cover is an insane privilege."
She also wrote a letter to her daughter in a post saying, "I'm so proud of you. Not because you chose this path. I know that no matter which path you go, it will be your own. You always know exactly what you want and don't want. You ain't no mini-me and I'm happy for you that you show who YOU are. I know being my daughter is not always easy. You never had the chance to grow up normal. But what's normal?"
Klum added: "Vogue is the best entry into your career you dream of. And even if it's a bit difficult for me to let you go into this world, I will forever do everything to make you happy and fulfill your dreams. I'm proud to be your mom!"
In addition to posing for the cover story, the mother-daughter duo was filmed for a series of several videos dressed in similar looks.
"It was only a matter of time before I would try to become a model myself," Leni told Vogue Germany. "The first offer came when I was only 12 or 13, from a brand I liked to wear: Brandy Melville. At that time I begged my mother, but no chance. Now I understand that it would have been too early."
