There was also Mandy Moore's huge glamour moment on the purple carpet where she glowed with soft tousled curls and smoky eye makeup.
See five of the biggest, boldest makeup and hair moments at this year's affair.
Zendaya
"Zendaya’s Emmy's look was inspired by old Hollywood glam with a fresh, new and modern twist," said celebrity makeup artist Sheika Daley. "The goal was a regal, classic look with glowy and dewy skin, letting her natural beauty shine."
Using all Lancôme products, Daley began by filling in Zendaya's brows with an auburn-colored brow powder-to-cream and defined them with a chestnut toned pencil. Then, she used the Color Design Eye Shadow in Amber Allure to create a smoky eye. The same eye shadow in Galactic Sapphire was used as a highlighter in the inner corners of the eyes as well as lightly down the center of the lids.
After finishing the eyes, Daley applied a long-wearing foundation and used two foundation sticks to contour. A swipe of liquid highlighter was used on the top of the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose, on the forehead and the top of her lip.
A creamy rose-toned lipstick was applied along with two lip glosses for added shine.
Celebrity hairstylist Ursula Stephen gave Zendaya's red strands a voluminous wavy look by using a curling iron, paddle brush to smooth and Suave Professionals Firm Control Finishing Hairspray for hold.
Mandy Moore
"To complement the look, American glamour was the phrase we kept referring to for hair and makeup inspiration – think Cindy Crawford in the 90's Pepsi commercial," said celebrity makeup artist Jenn Streicher.
On Moore, Jenn used an array of Lorac eye shadows including Latte from the PRO Matte Eyeshadow Palette as a base and Corduroy in the crease to define the contours of the eye.
She also brushed on Chill Vibes from the LA Palette -- Venice Beach all over the lid and a touch of the LUX Diamond Creme Shadow in Cashmere.
For Moore's hair, celebrity hairstylist Ashley Streicher used Tangle Teezer's new Ultimate Teaser comb to add volume and texture.
Emilia Clarke
Clarke flaunted sleek long brunette hair with a middle part and clean makeup. She confirmed in an Instagram post that J.Lo inspired her look.
Celebrity hairstylist used extensions for added length and had them colored to perfection by colorist Eddie Cook.
Niecy Nash
Makeup artist Naima Jamal for Pat McGrath Labs gave Niecy Nash a divine look that Pat McGrath described in a post as "MAJORNESS in a GORGEOUS look."
To complement her stunning sparkly gown, Jamal played up Nash's eyes with Gilt Trip from the MTHRSHP: Sublime Bronze Ambition Eyeshadow Palette, Paranormal in the creases from the MTHERSHP: Subversive La Vie En Rose Eyeshadow Palette and Skinshow Moon Glow from the MOTHERSHIP V1: Midnight Sun Eyeshadow Palette.
Nash's eye look was complete with Permagel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil in Xtreme Black.
Naomi Watts
Watts rocked an asymmetrical bob cut along with a bright red pop of color on her lips, and we are obsessed!
