Shop 9 dermatologist-approved sunscreens for summer
With summer right around the corner, now is the perfect time to stock up on sunscreen.
But with so many options out there, what should you look for?
Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Yvonne Chiu recommends a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
According to Chiu, sunscreens containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as the active ingredient are the most protective.
She also advises wearing sun-protective clothing and hats and avoiding the peak UV hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Despite these suggestions, Chiu says “there is no single best sunscreen. The best sunscreen is one that you will use regularly and reapply regularly.”
