Sephora has welcome its first fully plastic-free brand, AORA México, the viral luxury color cosmetic brand that comes in artful, fully recyclable packaging and packs a serious punch when it comes to glamour.

The Mexico City-based brand was launched in 2022 by founders by Nour Tayara and Rodrigo Peñafiel with the belief that "luxury design, high-performance formulas and environmental responsibility should never be mutually exclusive."

Every product comes packaged in tin, aluminum, or wood with zero plastic, with each created using Mexican-origin ingredients including five native chiles, tepezcohuite and cactus flower.

"This is the moment we built AORA for," Tayara said in a press release. "Sephora sets the standard in beauty, and when it embraces a new idea, the industry pays attention. This launch proves that plastic-free luxury is no longer a niche concept. It belongs at the center of the beauty industry, and we're proud to show that a brand born in Mexico can help define what's next."

Featuring gorgeous, color-drenched eyeshadows, lip glosses, liners, and more, "GMA" was able to try the brand out for ourselves, and the results were impressive even before we knew about the founders' commitment to ethical, sustainable beauty.

Aora is certified by rePurpose Global, and the purchase of every product helps remove nine times its weight in plastic from nature. Prices range from $25 for a lip liner to $65 for the dazzling eyeshadow palette, and you can shop the full collection here now.

AORA México INICIA Antipollution Illuminating Primer with 12 HR Wear with Squalane & Tepezcohuite

This illuminating primer has sold out three times, and after trying it out for ourselves, it's easy to see why! It has the perfect amount of pearlescent glow to give you an otherworldly, lit-from-within look while offering just enough grip (minus the overly sticky feeling of some primers) that your makeup glides on for a smooth, plump look that lasts up to 12 hours. A little goes a long way, too, so the generously sized $35 tube is well worth the cost.

AORA México ACARÍCIAME MÁS Chili-infused Solid Lip Serum & HÁBLAME Longwear Lip Liner Duo

Skip the crusty liner and lipstick routine in lieu of this gorgeous, plumping combo that provides a bold hit of color that brings your pout to life. Our first time using was a surprise thanks to the tingling sensation (no burning, though!), and we were immediately converted to Aora fans seeing the juicy, colorful payoff this combo provides.

AORA México HÁBLAME Longwear Creamy Lip Liner with Vitamins C & E

A great lip liner is hard to find, but Aora nailed it with this super-creamy, long-wearing formula. This nude pink definitely leans more toward the pink to prevent that washed-out look, and you'll love the impeccable glide during application. It's also easy to blend out with a brush or your finger, so you can slap this on and top it with a dab of gloss for a complete look in seconds.
