H&M teams up with WARDROBE.NYC for its latest designer collab

H&M's latest designer collaboration is here.
On Thursday, WARDROBE.NYC and H&M launched a new collection of wardrobe essentials, featuring tailored staples like mini and midi-skirts, a double-breasted wool coat, a wool-blend hourglass blazer, wool pants, straight-leg jeans and a cropped bomber jacket.
Apart from a light blue shoulder-pad poplin shirt, the collection is entirely black, white, and gray, emphasizing the ability for shoppers to mix and match the pieces in their wardrobes.
"A purposeful expression of archetypal urban style, the collection celebrates a versatile approach to building a wardrobe: starting with the styling of a complete look, then refining it into individual components that hold their own," a press release states.
Ideal for layering, the collection includes bodysuits, long-sleeved cotton tops and a ribbed tank top.
"Layering is a key part of the way I put things together -- using wardrobe staples almost like building blocks to create an ensemble," Christine Centenera, who co-founded WARDROBE.NYC with designer Josh Goot, said in a statement. "I also think about a silhouette, and the perfect hero piece to complete the look. I trust these pieces completely. That trust, that reliability, is what WARDROBE.NYC is all about."

You can find inspiration for styling the collection from the campaign imagery: In one look, a model wears the wool tailored pants with the blue poplin shirt, layered beneath the double-breasted blazer, all under a longer double-breasted wool coat.
In another, a shoulder-padded bodysuit is the hero, worn over the long-sleeve cotton top and tucked into the wool mini skirt. The shoulder pads are removable, a thoughtful detail that allows the top to be worn as a statement or in a more relaxed fashion.
