1. Gunman, 2 Others Dead in Indiana Supermarket Shooting
Three people, including a gunman, are dead following a shooting late Wednesday night at an Indiana grocery store, authorities said.
2. Air Force Reveals 34 Nuclear Officers Involved in Cheating Scandal
The Air Force’s nuclear force is once again drawing negative attention after 34 launch officers have been stripped of their authority to control and launch nuclear-armed Minuteman III missiles because of their role in a cheating scandal at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana.
3. Senate Probers: Stevens Didn't Have to Die in Benghazi
An 85-page report by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence placed the blame for the incident first and foremost on armed Islamist militants -- mostly associated with five groups closely tied to core-al Qaeda -- but also with the State Department run by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, whose staff failed to heed incessant warnings that security was evaporating there.
4. Academy Award Nominations Announcement
At 8:30am EST, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will announce who has been nominated for an Academy Award. In the past, it's been pretty clear who was posed to take home the most nods, but this year seems anybody's game.
5. Apple Agrees to Refund $32.5M for Kids' Purchases
Plenty of parents have been there — handing over the iPhone or iPad to a child while waiting in the doctor's office, standing in line at Starbucks or sitting in the car for a long road trip with the family. The youngster is playing a game on a fun mobile app and then hands you the phone saying he needs your password. Next thing you know, there's a charge on your credit card from Apple.
