— -- Six major wildfires have scorched over 175,000 acres across Southern California this week, forcing thousands of residents from their homes.
Some 8,500 firefighters on Saturday were still battling the blazes fanned by fierce Santa Ana winds, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Thomas fire in Ventura County
Creek fire in Los Angeles County
Rye fire in Los Angeles County
