It’s a joyful and wholesome moment that’s sure to bring a smile to your face.
Robin Whitsett, 38, shared a video on TikTok showing her youngest daughter excitedly waiting for her two older sisters to return home from school in different weather conditions, and the sweet moments are warming hearts, having already amassed over 2 million likes and more than 12,000 comments.
"She waits for her sister no matter the weather. Sunshine, rain, snow," the 38-year-old mom from southern Indiana captioned the video clip, later clarifying in the comments section that the TikTok features all three of her children.
People quickly chimed in, with one writing, "Stop this is the cutest thing," next to a crying emoji. Another added, "Priceless," along with two red heart emoji.
Whitsett is mom to Lily, 12, Lilah, 10, and Loxley, 3, and even though she and her husband initially worried their girls may be negatively impacted by their age differences, it hasn’t turned out that way.
"We were a little concerned having a third child later with the age gap, how our family dynamic would change (with) the girls being a little bit older, but they both adjusted really well," she told "Good Morning America."
"The oldest kind of took on a motherly role, and the middle daughter, she plays with her and does the makeup and dress up and stuff," Whitsett said. "But they really have a good relationship. All three of them together. They interact really well."
Whitsett said Loxley started routinely waiting for her siblings back in 2019, and weather conditions have never fazed her. "As soon as they went back to school, we started waiting outside for the bus, because she missed them a lot. They're really close, so it was a good way for her to cope with something to look forward to."
On rainy days, Whitsett explained, "She'll go grab her umbrella or her boots and her coat, and she's ready to go. She knows about what time it is, when it's time to go out and start sitting to wait for the bus. So she doesn't mind the weather at all."
She added that her older kids love the warm welcome as well.
"They run to her and embrace her. They're just as excited to see her," she said.
Whitsett said she didn’t expect her videos of Loxley to get so popular.
"I think because I live with them and see their relationship and their closeness, I didn't really think that that was an unusual thing," she said. "I filmed it because it's obviously adorable. But just seeing the reaction from people was really surprising to me and reading the comments, I just didn't realize their bond was a rare thing like that."
"One person commented that they would, you know, lock their brother out in the snow," Whitsett continued. "So I think it's a rarity, and it's a good, wholesome video that everybody can kind of agree on. And, you know, everybody thinks it's cute, and it's a sweet thing to bring people together."
Loxley is also looking forward to going to school herself and will start preschool next year.
"I hope that they all stay super close," her mom said. "I think that they will. I think they'll just grow together. They've done really well so far, so let's hope that continues."
