Jacob Tremblay Gives Adorable Acceptance Speech at Critics' Choice Awards
— -- When 9-year-old actor Jacob Tremblay accepted his award at Sunday night's Critics' Choice Movie Awards, the crowd couldn't help by "awww."
The young actor took home the award for Best Young Actor/Actress for his role in "Room." In the film adaption of Emma Donoghue's 2010 novel, he portrays a boy who has spent his entire life locked in a garden shed with his mother, a kidnapping victim.
Tremblay could barely see over the microphone when he started his speech with, "Whoa! This is super cool. This is the best day of my life."
Presenter, Bradley James, came to Tremblay's rescue, holding the microphone below the tiny actor's face while he completed his adorable acceptance speech.
Tremblay said of his cast and crew, "I think that us working together made this movie come true, and this award doesn't just go to me for that, it goes to all of you guys as well."
Actresses Gina Rodriguez, Yael Grobglas and Tracee Ellis Ross, who were in the audience, were visibly touched by Tremblay's speech.
Tremblay ended his acceptance speech after thanking the critics and his parents by telling the crowd where he'll put his new trophy: "right on the shelf right beside my Millennium Falcon."
