Amanda Bynes 'Has Her Own Apartment and Is Much Happier,' a Source Says
— -- Amanda Bynes is doing well, a family source told ABC News.
A few months after the former child star was placed on a psychiatric hold, her situation has improved.
"Amanda is doing much better from where she was months ago," a family source told ABC News. "She has her own apartment and is much happier. She and her parents are getting along and Amanda is clear-headed, more focused and has more independence."
Bynes, 28, was hospitalized in October after displaying worrisome behavior, including going on a Twitter tirade against her father. Now, her parents have conservatorship over their daughter's finances and medical care.
Meanwhile, People magazine reported that the DUI charge Bynes had been facing stemming from a September arrest has been dropped, according to her lawyer, David Esquibias.
"Amanda is doing well," he told the magazine.
