'Mandalorian' star Pedro Pascal shows support for transgender sister on Instagram
Pedro Pascal was a proud big brother on Tuesday when he introduced the world to his little sister Lux, who came out publicly as a transgender woman.
The "Mandalorian" star, 45, shared a photo of his sibling's cover for Ya, a Spanish-language magazine, in which she opened up about her gender identity for the first time.
Of Lux, he wrote in the caption, "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux." This translates to "my sister, my heart, our Lux."
Lux said in the profile, translated from her native Spanish, that her transition was "very natural" for everyone in her family and it was "almost something they expected to happen."
She also received immediate support from her brother, who has been "an important part" of the process, she said.
"He is also an artist and has been a guide," she continued. "He was one of the first to give me the things that formed my identity."
Lux, who is now studying acting at Juilliard in New York City, also spoke about the need for positive role models in the fight against discrimination.
"We need trans activists who are good, intelligent, informed and who can speak out against transphobia, homophobia, racism," she said.
