Kindergartner dresses as school security officer for 'Dress As Your Favorite Person Day'
A 5-year-old boy who participated in "Dress As Your Favorite Person Day" decided to dress as his school security officer.
Easton Blocker arrived this week to Bobby G. Lester Elementary School in Jacksonville, Arkansas, in a uniform that matched Officer Jeffery Cross. Mom Lauryn Blocker said it was Easton's idea from the very start.
"He's infatuated with Officer Cross," Blocker, a mother of three from Jacksonville, told "Good Morning America." "He will tell you, 'That's my best friend!'"
Blocker said she went out and bought a yellow t-shirt for Easton and pasted "Junior Security" on it in vinyl letters.
Cross, who's been working for school security since August, said he was shocked that Easton chose him to dress up as him.
"Most of the scholars are expected to dress as their teachers or fellow classmates," Cross, a 35-year-old father of one told "GMA." "Easton, ever since the first day of school, he comes up and hugs me. He's adorable. He has a very fun, high-spirited personality."
Blocker invited Cross to her home Wednesday to play kickball with Easton. She said she was happy to transform Easton into the beloved guard for a day.
"For someone who my son looks up to so much I'm going to say, 'Hey, this is how much he adores you.'"
