How to make these zesty parmesan garlic chicken wings for game day
Despite chicken wings trending slightly pricier per pound compared to last year, the Super Bowl staple is a crowd-pleaser and even a smaller batch of this delicious dish will be well worth going for the homemade route.
Food stylist and writer Will Coleman came up with a zesty recipe that takes a turn from traditional Buffalo wings with hot sauce and butter to amp up the flavor of the chicken with a combination of garlic and parmesan.
Check out his video of how they're made below and see the full recipe further down.
Zesty Parmesan Wings
Ingredients
1 pound chicken wings
Onion powder
Garlic powder
Smoked paprika
Salt & pepper
Minced garlic, 6 - 8 cloves
Chives
Zest of 1 lemon
Parmesan cheese
Directions
Combine dry rub ingredients and toss chicken wings until coated. Place in the air fryer basket and cook at 360 degrees until skin is extra crispy and golden brown. This should be approximately 12 minutes, but all chicken should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
For the sauce, zest a lemon, finely mince chives and garlic. Melt a tablespoon of butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add ingredients and cook until garlic is golden in color. Add cooked wings and toss until fully coated.
Sprinkle with freshly grated parmesan cheese and serve.
