This is the story all about how this mom threw a "Fresh Prince" baby shower.
Chaunae Berry, a lifelong Philadelphian, had an epic baby shower inspired by her favorite '90s show, "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air."
Berry, a '90s kid and Will Smith fan, said the theme for the baby shower came to her naturally when she found out her second child would be a boy.
"When I was pregnant with my first child, Aubree, I would call her 'Princess'... so when I found out I was having a boy, I started calling him 'Prince,'" Berry, 28, said.
"The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" also has a personal meaning to Berry, reminding her of spending time with family as a kid.
"Growing up, I used to watch 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' with my dad," said Berry.
"We want to relive the era, because that was a good time to be alive," she added.
To bring her vision to life, Berry hired Joi Jones, a part-time event planner and owner of the party planning company Unique Themez.
"I asked [Jones] to be really attentive to details and I was nervous because I had this vision … but after seeing how everything turned out, I was like, 'Oh my God! She really made my vision, my reality.' I was so happy," said Berry.
The room, set for approximately 100 guests, was filled with decor details that brought the show to life.
Decorations played into the show's logo with gold chain balloons, neon '90s themed graffiti art, boom boxes and a special themed dessert bar was set up, complete with retro candy, cupcakes, and cookie onesies that read "Chillin' out, Maxin, Relaxin, All cool."
There was also a dance floor, and, of course, a throne like the one Smith sits on in the show's theme song.
Berry told her guests to wear '90s attire and was happy to see they actually followed through.
"My favorite part is that everybody came out to support me, but they all followed the directions," said Berry. "When it comes to events, it's hard to get everybody to dress up, but everybody was so willing to do it … and that's my favorite memory."
Berry said her little prince is due any day.
