It was a birthday to remember for Dante Johnson.
The 10-year-old from San Francisco was headed out of school for the day when he was stopped in his tracks. His aunt was calling out to him but to his surprise, she was sitting in a shiny black limousine, a vehicle Dante had never seen before in real life. The limo was sent to pickup Dante for his birthday.
"He said he had only seen them in the movies," Dante's aunt, Nita Fisher, told "Good Morning America." "I was like, that'll be such a good idea to come and pick him up from school in a limo. Once I thought of it, I was like, this is better than a gift because it's an experience for him. He's never going to forget this."
Dante's surprise was caught on camera by his mother, Tamara McKinnon, who helped coordinate the ride with his aunt and grandmother.
"I just rolled the window down and he's just in complete disbelief," Fisher recalled. "It was so magical. He was so taken aback. I've never seen him so speechless."
Fisher shared a video of the special moment and it quickly captivated Twitter users, garnering over 166,000 likes and over 19,000 retweets in the last week.
The limo's chauffeur wished the lucky young man a "Happy Birthday!" and opened the door for him to step into his luxurious ride, Fisher said.
"For a while, he was in shock. But then he just kept saying, 'I can't believe this. I can't believe I'm really in the limo.'" Fisher said. "I said, 'Oh, it's really happening.' And he was like, 'I'm just living my best life.'"
Once inside, Fisher said it didn't take long for Dante, who she describes as "very charismatic" and "hilarious," to get comfortable. She even likened his experience to that of the fictional Kevin McCallister from the 1990 hit family comedy "Home Alone."
"He just kept giving me his glass so I can refill it with apple cider and we were playing all his favorite songs and we let him DJ so he's just like, rapping and singing," Fisher said.
Dante was able to celebrate his birthday in style and rode to the wharf to hang out with sea otters and enjoy his favorite doughnuts. Later, he capped off his perfect afternoon with a private watch party at the movies.
"He is still on cloud nine about this and I've been sharing the response with him. Our local radio station put the story on the radio and so when he got to school, a lot of the staff was coming up to him like, 'Oh, my gosh, we heard about you on the radio.' And he told his mom, 'Oh my god, I'm famous now.'"
