24/7 TV channel brings the zoo to life for those who can't visit
Millions of people visit the San Diego Zoo each year, but there are still many more who might not get to do so for any number of reasons.
Through the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Explorers channel, a 24/7 educational and free network, the zoo is bringing its animals and wildlife to people in at least 400 facilities, including clinics, hospitals, and senior centers.
Among the channel's millions of viewers is Addison, who told ABC News' Danny New she has undergone two surgeries this year already for a cancerous tumor in her stomach and is continuing with weekly chemotherapy sessions.

"[The Wildlife Explorers channel] gets my mind off stuff," Addison told New of why she loves to tune in.
Addison said she has particularly enjoyed learning about giraffes, and with New, she got to virtually meet with and speak to Marco Wendt, the host of the Wildlife Explorers channel.
"It makes me feel good and fills your heart with a little bit of hope that we can offer a little bit of grace," Wendt said of his work as a channel host and longtime ambassador for the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance.
