World Exclusive 1st Look at New 'Moana' Trailer With Dwayne Johnson
— -- Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has kept busy with 20 upcoming movies, including a leading role in Disney's latest film, "Moana."
Johnson joined "Good Morning America" today from Honolulu, where he is on location filming "Jumanji,” to present the world exclusive premiere of the “Moana” trailer.
"It seems like the world is very excited for 'Moana,'" Johnson said. "The animation is beautiful."
Johnson voices the character Maui, the great ocean demigod who helps fearless Moana as she embarks on an epic adventure to discover what is beyond the confines of her island.
There is an uncanny resemblance between Johnson and his animated on-screen character: Maui's imposing stature, bulging muscles and tribal tattoos bear a striking similarity to that of the actor.
"A lot of times when you see a movie you try not to get drunk on your own wine," said Johnson, who called the movie "really special." "But the movie is really good and I can't wait for everybody to see it."
Johnson debuted the film's official movie poster on his Facebook page Monday to kick off #MOANAMondays, a social media campaign leading up to the animated film's November release.
"Moana" hits theaters Nov. 23.
