Serena Williams, 44, is slated to play her first professional singles match Tuesday since 2022.
The upcoming tennis match marks Williams' return to Wimbledon since 2022 and follows her official return to tennis earlier this month, when she played doubles with Victoria Mboko, 19, at the Queen's Club Championships in London.

The duo faced American Nicole Melichar-Martinez and New Zealand's Erin Routliffe and won.

Who is Williams playing against?
The tennis legend will face off against 20-year-old Australian Maya Joint.
According to ESPN, Joint turned pro in 2021.
In a video shared on Tennis Australia's official Instagram page, Joint shared her reaction to learning about playing against Williams and said she was "surprised" and "excited."
"I never thought I'd get to play against her. She stopped playing when I kinda got on tour," she added. "When I saw that she got the wildcard, I think there's a small part of me that always wanted to experience playing her and if someone told me 10 years ago that I'd be playing at Wimbledon first round against Serena Williams, I just -- that would be ridiculous."
When was the last time Williams played a Wimbledon singles match?
Williams' last appearance at Wimbledon was in June 2022. She lost in the opening round to Harmony Tan.
In total, Williams has won seven singles titles and six women's doubles titles at Wimbledon, according to ESPN. She won her first Wimbledon singles title in 2002.

Will Williams play doubles with her sister?
On Thursday or Friday, Williams will play at Wimbledon alongside her sister, Venus Williams, 46, in doubles, according to ESPN. They will play against Solana Sierra and Camila Osorio.
The duo has previously won 14 major titles together. The last game they played together was at the All England Club in 2016.
What has Williams said about her comeback to professional tennis and what is her approach this time around?
Williams, who stepped away from tennis after the 2022 U.S. Open, said that her approach to her match against Joint is "to have fun."
"As of now, I'm not nervous," she said. "My expectation here is just to take it easy and to be calm and to have fun, which is something I historically have never done, but in a good way."
She added that her plan was to just play doubles, but when it came to step back into singles competition, she said it was a "game-time decision."
