'Vampire Diaries' alum Candice King is pregnant with baby No. 2
Candice King just announced she is pregnant with her second child.
The actress, who starred on the CW drama, "The Vampire Diaries" from 2009 to 2017, shared the exciting news during a recent episode of her podcast, "Directionally Challenged."
"Something I have not shared yet on this podcast is that I'm actually pregnant," she said. "I've got a bun in the oven."
"I'm a little over five months, so it's been the entirety of the whole quarantine experience and everything that 2020 has brought us this year," she added. "It's been a journey to say the least."
King and her husband, The Fray musician Joe King, are already parents to a 4-year-old daughter, Florence. The musician also has two children, Elise and Ava, from his previous marriage.
During the podcast, the actress said she likes to keep all things pregnancy personal but has reached a place where she is "comfortable and confident that I'm in a good place ... and that, you know, my baby's okay."
When asked by her co-host, fellow "Vampire Diaries" alum Kayla Ewell, about how she is feeling, King said she is "doing great" physically.
"I was really lucky to have a smooth transition into a more energetic second trimester," she shared. "I'm moving around so much less this pregnancy than I did my first pregnancy. I realize like how stagnant I am because I don't really go anywhere. It takes a lot more effort to convince myself to go on a walk, which really ties into a lot of the emotional weight that I've been carrying around."
She admitted the pandemic has affected how she's felt about discussing her pregnancy.
"It's actually been easier for me to not talk about pregnancy this time around," she said. "It's been kind of odd to share the experience in discussing it with friends and family because I can't really physically share the experience of hugging friends right now comfortably or, you know, knowing when I'm going to see my family next, and I haven't seen them this entire pregnancy so far."
