Terri Irwin celebrates daughter Bindi welcoming 1st child: 'Steve would be beyond proud'
Following Bindi Irwin's announcement that she welcomed her first child, a daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, Terri Irwin took to social media to congratulate her and express her excitement.
In a message posted to Twitter, the widow of late "Crocodile Hunter" star Steve Irwin wrote, "Love is not a big enough word. My heart is so incredibly happy."
"And I know that Steve would be beyond proud," she continued. "Grace is the next generation to continue his mission and message of conservation. She chose her parents wisely."
"Bindi and Chandler are already the best parents ever!" she finished her message.
Bindi and her husband, Chandler Powell, announced their daughter's birth on Friday. They revealed their little one came into the world on March 25, which also happened to be their 1-year wedding anniversary.
In Bindi's announcement, she explained the significance of their daughter's name: "Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s. Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior. Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad."
Robert Irwin, Bindi's younger brother, also took to social media to share a photo with Grace and celebrate her arrival.
"Let the uncle adventures begin!" he captioned the shot. "Love you so much, Grace."
He added that his niece "picked the two best parents in the entire world," describing Bindi as "the most incredible, caring and strong Mum" and Chandler as "the funnest, coolest and kindest Dad."
"Love you three so much - I can’t wait for this exciting journey ahead!" he added.
