'The Sandlot' star hilariously recreates iconic movie moment with 4-year-old son
"The Sandlot" star Patrick Renna hilariously recreated a scene from the beloved 1993 film with his son, Flynn.
In a video shared to social media a few days ago, Renna, who played Hamilton "Ham" Porter in the iconic movie, showed that he knew how to handle his little guy when he experienced a sporting injury -- providing a callback to "The Sandlot" that got fans feeling nostalgic.
"So 'Smalls,' AKA my 4-year-old son, Flynn, got his first black eye playing baseball, and I knew exactly what to do," Renna said in the clip, before briefly showing a photo of Flynn's shiner.
The shot then changes to the father-son duo cuddling on the couch before, without as much as a warning, Renna slapped a steak on his little man's eye. This resulted in a fit of giggles from his kiddo.
"If you know, you know," Renna concluded the video.
Fans of "The Sandlot" will remember the scene when Smalls (Tom Guiry) attempts to plays catch with his dad and he doesn't keep his eye on the ball. After getting hit in the face, his dad slaps a steak on his face, telling his son it won't keep him from getting a black eye but will keep the swelling down.
Last June, Renna and his wife, Jasmin, welcomed their second child, a son named Liam.
Renna, who also starred in 1995's "The Big Green," reunited with his "The Sandlot" co-stars last July on his YouTube channel as part of a charity event.
