Orlando Bloom talks powerful new movie role and his excitement on becoming a girl dad
Orlando Bloom is "excited" to become a father once again.
The "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor, already dad to a 9-year-old son, Flynn, is set to welcome a daughter with fiancée Katy Perry later this year.
"I'm excited," he told "Good Morning America" on Thursday. "It's a magical time, you know, when an angel pops into the planet, which is what it feels like for me."
Bloom, 43, said he plans on "being present" as he and Perry, 35, welcome the new addition to the family and start to "nurture a life into the world."
The "Lord of the Rings" actor even said he's "looking forward to those very late nights ... and doing the bottle thing."
"I just love those quiet times at night when the world feels like it's asleep and you've got a sleeping baby," he added.
Of his new role in "The Outpost," Bloom said playing a real-life hero like Lieutenant Benjamin D. Keating on the big screen inspired him to be a better man. The movie, based on a 2012 non-fiction book by Jake Tapper, releases on VOD on July 3.
"I aspire to be one of those men in my life," he explained, "and I think to play one of those men is a great sense of honor and responsibility and I'm grateful for it."
Perry, who became engaged to Bloom on Valentine's Day 2019, announced she was pregnant with her first child in her "Never Worn White" music video back in March.
Then, in April, the "American Idol" judge revealed she was expecting a baby girl with Bloom.
