'Moon Knight' star Gaspard Ulliel dead at 37 after skiing accident
Gaspard Ulliel, a César Award-winning French actor who starred in 2007's "Hannibal Rising" and 2014's "Saint Laurent," died Wednesday after a skiing accident. He was 37.
The actor is set to appear on the Disney+ Marvel series "Moon Knight," out March 25, opposite Oscar Isaac and Ethan Hawke.
Ulliel, who was the face of the Chanel men's fragrance Bleu de Chanel, won the César Award -- the equivalent of an Academy Award in France -- for most promising actor in 2005 for "A Very Long Engagement." He then won for best actor in 2017 for "It's Only the End of the World."
The actor's passing was mourned on Twitter by France's Prime Minister, Jean Castex, who said Ulliel "grew up with cinema and cinema grew with him. They loved each other madly."
France's Ministry of Culture, Roselyne Bachelot, mourned the passing of "an exceptional actor" and an "immense talent" on Twitter.
Ulliel is survived by his son Orso, whom he shared with his model-singer girlfriend, Gaëlle Piétri.
