How Marriage to Kim Kardashian Has Changed Kanye West
— -- Kanye West says marriage to Kim Kardashian West has changed him for the better in more ways than one.
"I've definitely learned how to compromise more," the Grammy winner told Ellen DeGeneres on her show Wednesday. "I've learned how to shut up more. ... I think I'm a better human being because of her and because of my daughter."
The A-list couple tied the knot in May and are already parents to North West, 2. The baby appears in West's new video for "Only One," which just premiered on his website.
"I have always someone to think about going home to," he continued. "There's things I've done in the past that were considered negative, but I was really jumping in front of the tank for other people or for culture in a way. Now, I always have to have that in my mind that I have a family I have to protect too."
DeGeneres added that West, 37, seemed "calmer" and that his emotions were channeled in a more grounded way.
West said he was going through his version "of my terrible twos," referencing his past, then relating to his little two-year-old at home.
"My daughter, she just wants to express herself, but she just doesn't have the words for it," he added, relating his daughter to how he used to feel. "For me, there's so many things I want to do with film, with clothing, and I just didn't have the words."
He added that "There's no amount of money that someone can give you to make you not be creative ... a lot of times people try to block you, control your creativity with money."
West said with his new Adidas deal, he's got more control over his clothing line and that it's like "a little bit of oxygen."
About his past, "you guys were seeing someone suffocated by perception."
He said after trying the same thing over and over, he tried something different and it resulted in positive dividends.
As for more kids, West said, "Yeah, we're trying ... I just want whatever Kim wants."
