Maisie Williams thinks the last 'Game of Thrones' season won't satisfy anyone
The final season of "Game of Thrones" is upon us, and one star of the hit HBO show is unsure of how fans will react when it’s over.
Maisie Williams, who has played Arya Stark on "GoT" since the show’s premiere in 2011, recently spoke to Sky News about how fans could react to season 8.
"I don't know that anyone’s going to be satisfied," she said about the show’s ending. "No one wants it to end, but I'm really proud of this final season."
The 21-year-old English actress also reflected on how her life will change with the ending of the "Thrones" era.
"It's going to be really weird when it's done," she said. "Every day it's a step closer to it not being a part of my life anymore."
"People are going to come up to me on the street and say, 'Weren't you on that show?' And that's going to be bizarre," she continued. "But all good things must come to an end."
Her plans for when the final episode airs? "Probably be me and my flatmate, and he's going to say, 'Well done', and I'm going to go, 'Thanks, bedtime'," she told Sky News.
Williams' co-star, Emilia Clarke, opened up about filming the final season during an appearance on "Good Morning America" in May 2018.
"It really is the most heartbreaking thing to be filming the last of anything," she said. "I've become an emotional wreck on set. They're like, 'Emilia... it's OK' and I'm like, 'But it's the last time!'"
"Overall, anything, be it an emotional scene or not, is kind of making me very sad," she added.
While few details of the final season are available, a few lucky insiders have gotten some details in advance from the show's stars themselves.
Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, recently told W Magazine that she's revealed information from the upcoming season to a few of her close friends.
"I’m so bad at keeping secrets. I don’t think people tell me things anymore because they know that I can’t keep them," she told the magazine. "I’ve already told the ending of 'Game of Thrones' to a few people."
"I was like, 'Hey, if you want to know, I’ll tell you,'" she added. "But it’s people that I know, not random people. It’s people that I know will keep the secret."
HBO shared a teaser for the highly anticipated eighth season just last week.
The season premieres April 14.
