Lady Gaga had an incredible night at the 91st Academy Awards, winning her first Oscar for best original song for her hit "Shallow" from "A Star Is Born."
After the special moment, the musical icon hit multiple after-parties to celebrate her big win.
In one moment that's taking over social media, the star posed with another musical icon, Madonna, at the Queen of Pop's exclusive Oscars after-party, dubbed "The Party."
The duo appeared to embrace in a photo taken by photographer JR for TIME. Gaga is also clutching her Oscar statue in the shot.
The duo was also captured in a behind-the-scenes clip while they posed together for photographs. A Gaga fan site reposted the interaction.
The photo for TIME came as a surprise to many because of long-standing rumors of an alleged running feud between the two that dates back as early as 2011.
Some felt there were similarities between Lady Gaga's 2011 hit "Born This Way" and Madonna's 1989 hit "Express Yourself."
"I certainly think she references me a lot in her work. And sometimes I think it's amusing and flattering and well done," Madonna told ABC News in 2012.
"When I heard it on the radio … I said that sounds very familiar," she added. "It felt reductive."
Since then, the two have made remarks -- sometimes directly mentioning one another and other times making what many have perceived as subtle remarks about one another -- in concert appearances and interviews.
Gaga brought up Madonna's famous words in her 2017 Netflix documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two."
"The thing with me and Madonna, for example, is that I admired her always and I still admire her no matter what she might think of me," she said.
"The only thing that really bothers me about her is that I'm Italian and from New York so, like, if I got a problem with somebody, I’m gonna tell you to your face," she continued. "But no matter how much respect I have for her as a performer, I could never wrap my head around the fact that she wouldn't look me in the eye and tell me that I was reductive or whatever."
However, it appears the talented women have put aside their differences and are celebrating each other's tremendous successes.
