Kelly Clarkson reveals her 4-year-old daughter is a tough critic
Kelly Clarkson is an international superstar who balances many roles, among them being a mother to two young children and stepmother to two kids from her husband, Brandon Blackstock's, previous marriage.
She just finished her most recent concert tour, "Meaning of Life," stars as a coach on "The Voice" and has an upcoming daytime talk show, "The Kelly Clarkson Show."
However, she says two of her kids, Remington, 2, and River Rose, 4, have no sympathy when it comes to her busy schedule.
"They do not care anymore. They're not impressed," she said in an interview with ET, speaking about a time when River Rose gave her a pretty harsh critique after a rehearsal.
"I wasn't singing full out because it's, like, three days in a row and then we have four days in a row for the show, so I was holding back," she told the outlet. "She was like, 'Mommy, you know when you're on stage and you were singing?' And I was like, 'Yeah, baby.' I was thinking like a compliment was about to come. She was like, 'Yeah, I was really bored.'"
"I was like, 'Oh. Damn... Well, that was sweet, honey. Maybe don't tell people that when they get off stage,'" she continued. "But they don't care, they're over it. They see it all the time."
She said she appreciates the opportunity to pursue so many opportunities but joked that her children might get the wrong impression.
"They're going to think that their mom likes to do nothing but watch movies because it's the only time when we get home. Either we're playing a game or watching a movie together because I'm so tired," she shared. "It's a lot, but it's good... I mean, you can't complain because you're going to do all these amazing things."
Clarkson has been busy promoting her upcoming movie "Ugly Dolls." She performed her new single "Broken and Beautiful" from the movie on Tuesday.
"Can’t wait for everyone to see this beautiful movie!" she shared along with some snaps from her performance.
We'll guess her kids won't be "really bored" with that one.
