How Katy Perry and Taylor Swift finally made up
Katy Perry said that making nice with her once-nemesis Taylor Swift was a "process."
In an interview with Sydney's Kyle and Jackie O radio show, the singer explained that before Swift started her Reputation tour, Perry, who'd also recently sold out arenas around the world, "realized how much we have in common."
So, she sent Swift "a literal olive branch" and an apologetic note, which kicked off their reconciliation; later, she said she apologized again, in person, at an Oscars party.
"Maybe there’s only five other people in the world that can have the same type of conversations and understand where we’re coming from," she said. "We should celebrate our commonality and our friendship and to be able to be there for each other."
Perry, 34, and Swift, 29, began feuding some number of years ago, and regularly took veiled jabs at each other on social media and even in their music. After they made up, fans cheered when Perry appeared in Swift's music video for "You Need to Calm Down." According to Perry, the invitation for the collaboration came after Swift welcomed her into her home and baked her cookies.
"She actually makes those cookies and they are actually so delicious!" Perry gushed.
