Katy Perry, Christina Aguilera, John Legend among 'The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II' star-studded lineup
More stars have lined up to belt out their favorite Disney classics this Sunday for "The Disney Family Singalong: Volume II."
Katy Perry, John Legend, Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson will all perform, and Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and the cast of "The Muppets" will open the show.
Plus, "Dancing With the Stars" pros Lindsay Arnold, Alan Bersten, Witney Carson, Val Chmerkovskiy, Jenna Johnson, Sasha Farber and Emma Slater will perform a remote ensemble routine with Keke Palmer to the "Hercules" song "Zero to Hero."
Palmer appeared on "Good Morning America" on Friday to tease her upcoming performance and said she chose the tune because the Muses in the animated film brought a vibe that was "soulful and had so much personality."
The 26-year-old also revealed she wanted to be Pocahontas growing up and why, in her opinion, people are drawn to Disney songs in general.
"Well, these Disney songs are a part of all our childhoods, I mean, they date back so far," Palmer explained. "I think immediately when you hear them, you go back to that very pure space of just enjoying and having fun and celebrating. That's a part of it but then also, right now, that's what we need. We need to feel togetherness, we need to feel unity."
Sabrina Carpenter, Tituss Burgess and classical pianist Lang Lang are also on the bill for the special, along with previously announced performers Halsey, Donald Glover, Idina Menzel, Miguel, Seth Rogen, Josh Gad, Billy Eichner, Shakira, Rebel Wilson, Derek and Julianne Hough and Anika Noni Rose.
Surprise performances are also planned for the show, which airs Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on ABC, just ahead of "American Idol."
It'll raise awareness for Feeding America's efforts to provide food for those in need during the COVID-19 crisis.
