Kate Winslet, one of the stars of the beloved Christmas movie "The Holiday," says her family does not watch the film regularly.

In an interview with the BBC published Wednesday, Winslet, who stars in the 2006 film as Iris Simpkins, an English writer looking for a shake-up, said her family has not seen the movie "for years."

"We don't sit down and watch films I'm in. I barely do," she said. "Almost everything I've been in, I've only seen once."

Winslet added that like many actors, she does not enjoy re-watching her own onscreen performances.

"When you watch the finished product, for most actors, that's an excruciating experience. It's something you kind of have to go through," she said.

"The Holiday," which sees Cameron Diaz's character and Winslet's character sharing a trans-continental house swap for the holiday season, has developed a loyal following over the years. A smashing commercial success, the film pulled in $204,920,447 total at the worldwide box office following its theatrical release in December 2006, according to The Numbers, a film industry data site that tracks box office revenue.

Winslet is currently focused on another Christmas project, "Goodbye June," which is based on a screenplay written by her son Joe Anders. Winslet directs, produces and stars in the film, which tells the story of a dysfunctional family navigating a complicated holiday season.

"I don't like the 'nepo baby' term," Winslet told the BBC, discussing her children pursuing entertainment. "These kids are not getting a leg up."

"He would say to me, 'I don't want people to think that this film is just being made because you're my mum,'" she continued, referring to her son. "The film would have been made with or without me. The script is so good. It was the script that attracted all these wonderful actors."

Winslet is a mother of three children. In addition to Anders, 21, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Mendes, the "Avatar: The Way of Water" star shares daughter Mia Threapleton, 25, with ex-husband Jim Threapleton and son Bear, 12, with husband Edward Abel Smith.

"Goodbye June" hits select theaters on Dec. 12 and Netflix on Dec. 24.
