Dr. Dre says he's 'doing great' amid hospitalization for brain aneurysm
Rapper and producer Dr. Dre announced Tuesday that he has been hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Peter Paterno, an attorney for the music mogul, confirmed to ABC News that Dre, born Andre Young, suffered a brain aneurysm.
Dre issued a statement thanking those who rallied around him, but he didn't say why he was hospitalized.
"Thanks to my family, friends and fans for their interest and well wishes," the 55-year-old wrote in the caption of a black and white photo of him sitting before a massive mixing board. "I’m doing great and getting excellent care from my medical team. I will be out of the hospital and back home soon."
The music mogul signed off with, "Shout out to all the great medical professionals at Cedars. One Love!!"
An aneurysm is an abnormal bulge in a blood vessel, according to the Mayo Clinic. If an aneurysm ruptures, it can lead to death.
