'Crocodile Hunter' Steve Irwin's son Robert posts lookalike pic feeding famed crocodile
Steve Irwin's son Robert honored his late father this week by recreating an iconic image 15 years after the original was taken.
"Dad and me feeding Murray... same place, same croc - two photos 15 years apart," he wrote as a caption.
In the image, Robert is lunging to feed the gigantic animal, the same way his legendary father, dubbed the "Crocodile Hunter," did more than a decade and a half ago.
So many fans and friends were impressed with the teen and how he's followed in Steve's footsteps.
"Can’t begin to imagine how proud he would be Robert," one wrote, while another added, "I think the whole world would agree, your dad would be super proud of you. Keep on rocking, man."
Both Irwin children have gone to lengths to honor and remember their father, who was a leader in animal conservation as well as being a TV host that took viewers on amazing adventures.
Steve died in 2006 after an accident where he was struck in the heart by a stingray. Millions mourned the sudden and painful loss.
Robert currently works at the Australia Zoo and often posts pics from his own adventures.
Last week he posted, "We are proud to announce the birth of our gorgeous Sumatran tiger cub named Nelson. He is the fifth cub for mother Kaitlyn, and is healthy and growing fast with a beautiful personality! This is such an exciting time for @australiazoo and tiger conservation."
The video that accompanies the post is absolutely adorable.
Then we have Bindi, a "Dancing With the Stars" champ and fellow conservationist.
"Wishing you a magical day from #AustraliaZoo 💛 Mornings with these sweethearts are always incredible," the late icon's daughter shared last week.
Before that, she posted an older picture with Steve, writing, "Thank you for always teaching me to stand up for what I believe in. I’m incredibly blessed to be your daughter and I love you so much."
Well done Robert and Bindi, well done indeed.
