Chrissy Teigen and John Legend Are Expecting Their First Child
— -- After opening up recently about her struggle to get pregnant, Chrissy Teigen finally had some good news to share: She and husband John Legend are expecting their first child.
"John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family," she wrote on Instagram Monday, alongside a photo of Legend touching her belly. "We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching! Xx"
On the premiere of "FABLife," her new syndicated daytime talk show alongside Tyra Banks, Teigen first revealed her struggle to get pregnant during an emotional discussion.
"I will say, honestly, John and I were having trouble," Teigen confessed. "We would have kids five, six years ago if it'd happened," she added. "But my gosh, it's been a process! We've seen fertility doctors."
The Sports Illustrated model added, "So, anytime somebody asks me if I'm going to have kids, I'm like, 'One day, you're going to ask that to the wrong girl who's really struggling, and it's going to be really hurtful to them. And I hate that. So, I hate it. Stop asking me!'"
Afterward, she thanked fans on Twitter for their support.
"Regarding the IVF business, I have never gotten so many kind, encouraging words in my life," Teigen tweeted. "You guys are awesome and appreciated."
The supermodel has made no secret about her and her hubby's desire to have a big family.
She recently told DuJour magazine, "We want a lot of kids. I would love to have three or four of my own, and then adopt a few. So basically I’ll be pregnant the rest of my life."
Teigen is also looking forward to the changes her body will go through.
"You look at Kim [Kardashian] and see how women’s bodies just become so beautiful," she told the magazine. "[The thought] of getting boobs thrills me. And John looooves pregnant women."
As for becoming a father, Legend told DuJour he'd love a bunch of girls.
"I’m a musician, I’m good with women and I’m a feminist, so I think I’ll be a good ‘girl daddy,'" he said. "Part of my goal in making money is so that our kids won’t have to fly on regular planes and embarrass us. I’m saving up so they can fly private."
