Carly Rae Jepsen On Re-Recording 'Everywhere You Look' for 'Fuller House'
— -- "Fuller House," the reboot of the beloved sitcom "Full House," hits Netflix today.
The theme song, "Everywhere You Look," has also been rebooted -- it's been re-recorded by Carly Rae Jepsen, who said she "jumped at the chance" to do it.
"We are sticking to the original tune. I think it would be a shame to not be singing that song," she told ABC News. "I got to work with the guy who wrote the song and it’s just a little bit more stripped-down. They’ve got some acoustic guitars. We made a point of not going too pop with it, and, if anything, kind of pulling back from that."
Jepsen said she not only loves the show, but she also loves the fact that Butch Walker was producing the song.
Walker, a singer, songwriter and producer, has worked with Avril Lavigne, Pink, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Train, Fall Out Boy and Gavin DeGraw, among others.
"When they asked me to sing the opening song, I jumped at the chance and I found out after the fact Butch Walker’s producing it," Jepsen added. "And it was just like, 'Aagh! Everything I wanted and more!'"
As a kid in Canada, Jepsen grew up watching "Full House," but she said she can't choose just one favorite episode.
"They all blur together for me because I’m certain I’ve watched all of them many times," she said. "I love Kimmy Gibbler, I think her character, in general, every time [she] would arrive, would just have me in giggles. I loved the twins’ obsession with Oreos, I love the 'Cut it out.' I love all of it!"
