Camila Cabello claps back at body shamers in fierce Instagram post
Camila Cabello doesn't have time for your nasty online comments.
In what was supposed to be joyous occasion, the singer, 22, went on Instagram this weekend to celebrate the two-year anniversary of her hit "Havana."
But she was blindsided by comments about her body instead.
"I haven’t gone on social media AT ALL with the conscious intention of avoiding things that hurt my feelings, but for a second I forgot ... and my eyes accidentally ran over a head line of people ‘body shaming me.' Honestly, first thing I felt was super insecure," she wrote.
But the singer decided to fight back.
"But then I was like…of course there are bad pictures, of course there are bad angles, my body’s not made of f------ rock, or all muscle for that matter," she added in her Insta story.
Cabello than focused her attention on young girls.
"I’m writing this for girls like my little sister who are growing up on social media," she added. "They’re constantly seeing photoshopped, edited pictures and thinking that’s reality, and everyone’s eyes get used to seeing airbrushed bodies and airbrushed skin and suddenly they think THAT’s the norm."
She closed by calling all that "fake" and was worried that fake is becoming the "new norm."
"Girls, cellulite is normal. Fat is normal. It’s beautiful and natural," she added.
Fans immediately flocked to her message and thanked their idol.
One fan wrote, "I needed to hear this I love you."
Another added, "It makes me mad that women body shame other women. We are suppose to be together. I hope Camila knows that we love her and she isn't fat she is amazing beautiful gorgeous and u don't deserve this hate. We love you Camila I love you. OMG she is adorable."
