Busy Philipps: My Husband Used Our Wedding Vows in a Channing Tatum Movie
June 5, 2014 — -- Busy Philipps is an accomplished actress with stints on "Cougar Town," "ER" and "Dawson's Creek," but her husband Marc Silverstein is no slouch either.
The screenwriter is known for penning such romantic hits as "He's Just Not That Into You," Valentine's Day" and "The Vow."
"It was interesting when we were writing our wedding vows together [in 2007] and it was interesting what he came up with, because obviously it was so beautiful and well written," Philipps told ABC News. "I was like 'Oh really? You feel that about me? Oh right this is what you do for a living, oh my God you are so good at it!'"
In fact, Philipps said some of her and her husband's wedding vows made their way into 2012's "The Vow" starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams.

"That was a nice surprise for me, he never told me that he did that. Sometimes I read his scripts, sometimes I don't," Philipps said. "I hadn't read 'The Vow' script. I watched it on an airplane and was sobbing hysterically during the vows part because I saw my wedding vows in there with Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum saying them to each other (laughs)!"
Philipps spoke to ABC as part of her collaboration with Banana Boat for the "Best Summer Ever" campaign.
"It just felt like perfect fit as mother of two," she said. "And I'm fully committed to have the best summer ever!"
Philipps and Silverstein are proud parents to two beautiful daughters - Birdie, 5, and Cricket, who will be 1 in July.
Philipps said Birdie couldn't be a better big sister to Cricket.
"She's amazing with her sister," she said. "Like the only thing I have to do is prevent her from physically eating her sister because she loves her so much. She is constantly covering her with kisses and hugs. Occasionally I have to say 'Bird, Cricket is a baby, but she needs personal space too.' It's really sweet."
She continued, "In terms of helping ... occasionally, if she wants to help me make a bottle for Cricket, or if she wants to help change a diaper, which really is just her handing me the diaper, she doesn't want to do anything other than that, she mostly just likes the fun stuff."
It's going to be a big summer for Philipps and her family, especially leading up to Cricket' first birthday on July 3.
"We are going to have a little birthday party in the park for Cricket," she revealed. "She's never really seen 'Sesame Street' but we had some Elmo dolls that were left over from Birdie and she's obsessed with that little Muppet. I'm gonna make her an Elmo cake and we are going to have a little Elmo birthday party in the park with some of Birdie's friends and two babies Cricket knows."
Then, it's vacation time.
"We are doing a family vacation with extended family, my husband's parents and brother and sister-in-law and their kids, we are going to the Outer Banks in North Carolina and have like a beachy, fun summer. Just hopefully one of those summers that Birdie will remember always," she said.
