‘Bachelor’ Castoff Jade Roper 'Pretty Surprised' by Chris Soules
— -- The latest woman to be denied a rose by “Bachelor” Chris Soules says she did not see the rejection coming.
"I was pretty surprised,” Jade Roper said today on ‘Good Morning America.” “I thought from my perspective that my hometown date went well and I was really sad. I didn’t expect it.”
Just before her elimination, Roper brought Soules to Gering, Nebraska, to meet her family. Like Soules, Roper grew up on a farm and says she joined the reality TV show picturing herself raising children with Soules on his farm in Arlington, Iowa.
“That’s something I’ve always wanted to have for my children because it’s very special in my childhood,” Roper said. “So, yeah, when I chose to go on the show I envisioned myself being there with him.”
Roper’s hometown date with Soules took a turn when she revealed to him that she once posed for Playboy, even showing Soules the Playboy photos on a computer.
Roper says that Soules specifically told her the revealing photos did not play a part in her elimination.
“We had that conversation and I felt like he was being honest with me and when I didn’t get the rose he sat down with me and he made it very clear that that wasn’t the reason I went home so I’d like to believe it,” Roper said on “GMA.” “I don’t feel like there was anything else that went on that would have changed it.”
Roper’s elimination on Monday night's episode means there are just three women left vying for Soules’s love: Becca, Whitney and Kaitlyn.
“I would say Whitney would the right one for Chris,” Roper said. “I feel like she is there for the right reasons.”
“The last couple of weeks we were roommates together and I grew really close with her,” she said of Whitney. “I really think she’s in it. Her heart is in it."
