After 33 years, we finally have a trailer for the 'Top Gun: Maverick' sequel
Maverick, Ice Man and the gang are back in "Top Gun: Maverick," and fans in San Diego couldn't be more excited.
Tom Cruise surprised Comic-Con attendees by debuting the trailer and showing up to introduce it.
Videos show the man himself taking the stage, to fans' delight.
"I'm feeling that loving feeling," he said, joking about the song featured in the original 1986 cult hit.
In the trailer, we find Maverick with more than "30 plus years of service" under his belt, a commander says in the voice-over.
"Only man to shoot down three enemy planes in the last 40 years," the voice-over adds. "But you can't get a promotion, you won't retire and despite your best efforts, you refuse to die."
The voice belongs to actor Ed Harris.
The motorcycle is back, that smile and his "need for speed."
Harris closes the clip by addressing drones, and how his kind "is heading for extinction."
"Maybe so sir, but not today," Maverick replies.
The film also features Val Kilmer and Jon Hamm.
Try. Not. To. Get. Chills!
"Top Gun: Maverick" hits theaters next summer.
