Grammys 2025 recap: Best moments from music's biggest night

Grammys 2025: Red carpet looks from music’s biggest night

Some of the biggest names in music were honored at the 2025 Grammys on Sunday.

Beyoncé took home the Grammy Award for album of the year for "COWBOY CARTER" and Chappell Roan won the Grammy for best new artist. Kendrick Lamar snagged both record of the year and song of the year for his song "Not Like Us."

Grammys 2025 red carpet: The most unforgettable celebrity looks of the night

The Grammys took place nearly a month after the Los Angeles wildfires began, which devastated the region and resulted in at least 29 deaths. The telecast was "reimagined to raise funds to support wildfire relief efforts and aid music professionals impacted by the L.A. wildfires," with funds raised during the show going to support music professionals and Los Angeles wildfire relief efforts.

Near the end of the show, Trevor Noah, who returned this year as host for the fifth year in a row, announced viewers at home had already raised $7 million.

Grammys 2025: Winners list

The night was filled with epic performances from artists like Charli xcx, Shakira, Lady Gaga, Sabrina Carpenter and more. A moving musical tribute was also performed to honor the late music legend Quincy Jones.

Beyoncé makes history ahead of 2025 Grammys

Beyoncé made history ahead of tonight's ceremony as the single most nominated Grammy artist of all time when nominations were announced in November.

The singer received 11 nominations this year, bringing her total nominations to 99 and placing her at the top of the list of most Grammy-nominated artists. Previously, the singer was tied for the No. 1 spot with husband Jay-Z, who has 88 total nominations.

Beyoncé is up for some of the night's top awards, including song of the year, record of the year and album of the year.

If the "COWBOY CARTER" singer wins album of the year for her foray into country, it would mark her first time winning the award. Previously, Beyoncé has scored best album nominations for her hit projects including "Lemonade," "RENAISSANCE," "Beyoncé" and "I Am... Sasha Fierce."

Beyoncé is also the most decorated artist of all time at the Grammys with 32 total awards.

Jimmy Carter posthumously wins 4th Grammy

Former President Jimmy Carter posthumously won the Grammy for best audio book, narration, and storytelling recording for his book "Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration."

Jason Carter, the late president's grandson, accepted the award on his grandfather's behalf.

"My grandfather was incredibly important to me, and lately, over these past few weeks, we've felt this enormous outpouring of love from all around the world," Jason Carter said in part at the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony on Sunday.

President Carter, who died Dec. 29, 2024, has been nominated for 10 Grammys in previous years. This is his fourth win.

"Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration" includes recordings of the former president delivering lessons from his hometown church in Plains, Georgia.

Kacey Musgraves, Sabrina Carpenter take home awards during Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony

Some early awards have already been announced ahead of tonight's show.

Early wins went to some of the biggest names in music including Sabrina Carpenter, who won best pop solo performance for "Espresso," and Charli xcx, who won best dance/electronic album for "BRAT" and best dance pop recording for "Von dutch."

Other early winners include Kacey Musgraves for best country song for "The Architect" and singer-songwriter Sierra Ferrell, who took home multiple awards including best Americana performance and best Americana album, among others.

Heading into the evening, Ballerini and Kahan were nominated for best country duo/group performance for Ballerini's song "Cowboys Cry Too," on which Kahan is featured. The duo ultimately lost to Beyoncé and Miley Cyrus, who won for their collaboration "II MOST WANTED."
