Media mogul Oprah Winfrey, who has struggled with her weight for many years, has said that she’s lost 26 pounds -- all while eating bread daily.

Winfrey, who recently turned to Weight Watchers’ calorie-counting points system, tweeted to her 30 million followers on Tuesday a Weight Watchers commercial in which she says that she's having success without depriving herself of bread.

“I don’t deny myself bread. I have bread every single day,” Winfrey says in the commercial.

Last year, Winfrey bought a 10 percent stake in Weight Watchers and joined its board.

Nutritionist Maya Feller says it is possible, like Winfrey, to lose weight while eating bread, but she warned that people should not get carried away.

“Don't be afraid of carbs -- but know what you're eating. ... If you pay attention to portion, you can lose weight,” Feller said.

She advised that people read the packaging label, adding that any breads described as “whole grain” or “whole wheat” are best for weight loss.

Winfrey's weight has long been a topic of conversation. In 1988, Oprah revealed her new 145-pound figure and wheeled out a wagon filled with 67 pounds of fat to represent the weight she'd lost. In 2008, she tackled her 40-pound weight gain on the cover of O! by superimposing a bigger photo of herself next to a photo of her in a crop top.
