Lava lamp nails are officially a thing.
One of the first people to post the look was nail artist Liam Peter. He posted a photo of clear, metallic, and orange nails on Instagram that look like tiny lamps in fingernail form.
Peter was inspired by the work of another artist, Alec Cole Hinz, who had previously created aquarium-like nails.

Peter's lava lamp post quickly caught the attention of many, and more than 26,000 people liked his initial post. It has since started a trend that keeps on growing.
He later posted more photos of his now-famous lava lamp nails and thanked everyone for all the love.
Now, lava lamp nails are popping up all over social media.
