When it comes to hair, the loose curl is in!
From celebrities on the red carpet to our favorite contestants on "The Bachelor," we're obsessed with the loose curl.
The key when creating this look is to appear put together yet also effortless.
“Hair is the easiest thing to kind of do a lot but still look cool,” celebrity hairstylist Laura Polko told "Good Morning America."
Polko has lots of experience when it comes to the loose curl. Not only does she sport it herself but she's created it for celebs such as Chrissy Teigen and Gigi Hadid.
The loose curl look is great for anyone, from people running errands to getting ready for a big event.
Polko shared her tips on how to get the perfect loose curl with a hair straightener or curling iron.
(MORE: Micro-concealing 101: The makeup hack that will save you time.)Polko is using the 1-inch straightening iron from T3 but any iron will do the trick.
By using a hair straightener the ends will typically be straighter, making for that "cool girl vibe" according to Polko.
1. Seperate your hair in 1 to 2-inch sections.
2. Place the straightener under your hair and slide it away from your face.
3. Repeat on the rest of your hair.
"Placement is really important," when it comes to the front of your hair, Polko said.
The goal is for the curl to hit at your eyeline.
When you get to the back of your hair, Polko says to direct the hair back so you get more height and volume.
4. Add texture spray.
5. Comb out the curls with your fingers.
A curling iron creates a more polished and put together look.
Polko suggests a 1.25-inch barrel curling iron for the best loose curl results.
Here, she is using the Singlepass Curl from T3.
1. Open the clamp of the iron and wrap hair away from face.
2. Move the iron up and down the hair.
3. Remove the hair from the iron and pull the end to loosen the curl.
4. Repeat on all of sections of your hair.
5. Finish by running texture spray through hair.
For those with a thicker hair texture, use a higher heat setting over smaller sections.
